Buy Lobster Live: Care For It Well
By Tim Somers on Apr 24, 2007 in General
If you have made the good decision to purchase lobster live and have live lobster shipped to you, then you have made an outstanding decision. The next quest that you have to embark on is how to keep your lobster live and healthy until you are ready to use it.Â
First off, it should arrive full of life moving its tail and claws. To keep it this way, store it in a lobster tank or lobster pot without a lid on it in the refrigerator. Keep them moist by using seaweed or seawater that has been placed on newspaper or towels. Do you keep them covered with water? Do not put a lid on them as they do need air to breathe.Â
Generally speaking, you should be able to keep lobsters live and healthy for about two days after they are purchased assuming that they are healthy from the start and they the company that ship lobster to you have cared for them properly in that shipping process.
