Purchasing The Best Lobster

When purchasing lobster for your family, there are several key things to look for. First, buy lobster live, so that you get the highest quality and the freshest flavor. Next, consider these other elements that help to bring together the most amazing lobster.
1. Look for the right color. When purchasing Maine lobster, for example, consider those that are any place from green/brown to black, to red, yellow, blue or white. But, remember that the color of the lobster, including red lobster, doesn’t change the way that it tastes.
2. How alive are they? When you purchase lobster live, you should see them moving and holding their claws in an upward position. Their tails should be straight out. Claws should not be limp and the tail should not be under its body.
When you have lobster shipped or lobster delivered to your door, look for these signs as they indicate the health and the quality of the actual lobster. Buy lobster from reputable providers to insure that all of the lobster you buy is the highest in quality.
